Confidentiality & Privacy Practices

Pinnacle Psychiatry prioritizes patient confidentiality within the limits permitted by Texas and federal law. However, certain situations may legally require disclosure of protected information.

Examples may include:

  1. Reporting suspected child abuse or neglect
  2. Reporting threats of harm to self or others
  3. Reporting criminal activity when required by law
  4. Complying with court orders, subpoenas, or legal investigations
  5. Addressing billing or fee collection matters
  6. Situations involving public safety concerns

If, in the provider’s clinical judgment, a patient is believed to be at risk of harming themselves or others, appropriate actions may be taken to help ensure safety, including contacting emergency contacts, emergency services, or appropriate authorities.

Protected health information may also be used or disclosed for treatment, payment, healthcare operations, and other uses permitted or required by law in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Patients may request copies of their medical records or additional information regarding privacy rights and disclosures by contacting the office directly.
